She wants to paint pictures of her life
In technicolour swirls and parallel universes
But every time her pen touches paper
All that flows out is a string of incoherent words
Fireflys, fairydust, glitter and stars
His eyes are a store of grey colour
But the warmth in them
Can be measured in only light years
When he looks at you it’s as if he can see everything
Not just the bright nails and converse, but the real you
They want to stop their world from falling apart
And as they stand together
Not only are they holding hands
But they’re holding onto that last piece of hope
That’s keeping their world together
She sinks into a dreams world
And is surrounded by technicolour swirls and parallel universes
She reaches out her hand
And tries to pocket a rainbow smile
But realises that she doesn’t need to
He opens his eyes, really opens them
And you can see galaxies of dreams
Twirling within them
Like silver smoke
And golden mist
They’ve stopped their world from falling apart
With the power of a thousand shooting stars
A million wishes made at 11:11
All those hugs, for just because
All those kisses, because I love you.
She wants to paint her life in
Technicolour swirls and parallel universes
But she realised she’s happy with this string of incoherent words
Because she knows if she ever started that picture
She’d never have the colours to finish it off.
